How to Earn Stars in Clash of Clans

There are two types of stars you can earn in Clash of Clan. The first are the “Achievement Stars” that you get when you clear out a certain achievement or challenge. The second are “War/Raid Stars” that you get whenever you attack another player’s village. Stars are used to represent the level of damage you’ve dealt to bases you’ve attacked (War/Raid Stars) or your progress in completing a certain achievement (Achievement Stars).

Method 1
Earning Achievement Stars

1. Tap the Achievement button on the bottom right-hand corner of the game screen. This is the small button with a woman’s face. The Achievements window will open, which shows a detailed view of your progress for every challenge.
- Achievements are special challenges that give Gems as a reward when you complete it.

2. Choose the achievement you want to complete. There are several challenges that you can choose from the long list inside the Achievements window. If you’re just starting out on the game, one of the few challenges that you can easily complete is “Bigger Coffers” wherein you need to upgrade one of your Gold Storages to level 10.

3. Complete the achievement. Achievements are divided into three levels. You gain one star for every level of an achievement you complete.
- In example; in “Bigger Coffers,” you get your first Achievement star once you upgrade your Gold Storage to level 2, then the next start when it reaches level 5, and then the last Achievement star will be awarded once the Gold Storage reaches level 10.

4. Check your progress. Once you earn a complete three star for a challenge, a red mark will appear right on the “Achievement” button. Tap this button to open the Achievement window and check to see your progress for each of the challenges you’re trying to complete.

Method 2
Earning War or Raid Stars

1. Train troops. Select your Barracks from the Map (the main game screen you see once the game launches), and tap the soldiers you want to produce.
- kind of soldiers you can produce will depend mainly on the level of Barracks you have. If you’re just starting out in the game, you can start by producing Barbarians, which costs around 25 Elixirs to train.

2. Look for a village to attack. Once you’ve created a sufficient number of troops, you can now start raiding other villages. Tap the “Attack” button you see on the lower left-hand corner of the screen, and select “Find a Match.”
- The server will start looking for village that you can attack. Once an opponent has been found, you will be taken immediately to its village.

3. Attack the village. Deploy your troops by tapping anywhere on the ground outside the walls of the village you’re going to attack. Your soldiers will begin advancing and raiding the village. You’ll get a certain number of War/Raid Stars depending on the degree of damage you do to a village you attacked:
- One star – If you destroy at least 50% of the village.
- Two stars – If you destroy the enemy’s Town Hall.
- Three stars – If you get to totally destroy the entire village (100%).

4. Claim your reward. If you earn at least one War/Raid star, you’ll instantly win the fight and will be awarded Gold and Elixir bonuses, which will be saved on your Gold and Elixir Storages.
